Den Gamle By- Old Town in Aarhus

Den Gamle By is an historic old town in Aarhus.  The buildings are authentic buildings that have come from all over the area.  They have been taken down part-by-part, numbered and photographed, and then reconstructed here in Den Gamle By.  That is interpreted as "The Old Town."

This area is only one block from our apartment.  We walk by it almost everyday on our exercise walks or doing our missionary assignments.  We were able to go inside this past Saturday as part of our preparation day.  It is quite a wonderful place, and full of the history and culture of Denmark.  It reminds us a great deal of what it would have been like for some of Bev's Danish ancestors living here during these times.   The history is depicted by the buildings, homes, ponds, and even some actors.
