Copenhagen Mission Conference - September 6th

We had a wonderful trip to Copenhagen for a mission-wide conference with Elder Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and Elder Hallstrom of the Seventy.  Other local leaders were in attendance as well.

We were able to take a ferry from Arhus Harbor here in Jylland to Sjæland Island, and then drive to Copenhagen the day before the conference, and were able to attend the Temple with other missionaries the night before the meetings.  We stayed at a bed and breakfast just a few blocks from the temple with two senior missionary couples from Iceland.  This was the first time the entire Denmark Copenhagen Mission was together for a conference in many, many years!  We were especially happy to attend the temple again, as this was the second time and we have only been in Denmark a month.  The session was in Danish, but it makes a lot of sense when you know what is happening.  Go to the temple often!

Copenhagen Chapel where the conference was held. Adjoining buildings on either side, and the chapel was added in between.

Sister Ripa and Sister Henderson from our district, left to right.  I don't know the third sister.

Sister and Elder Thorne from the Mission Office with Dad.

Sister Sederholm on left in pink jacket - mission president's wife.

President Sederholm caught on the phone just before the conference.

Major themes of the missionary conference included:
  • Learn, repent, and change to keep up with the Lord's "hastening of the work."
  • The difference between testimony and conversion is action.
  • We must be agents of action, and not just wait to be an object acted upon.  (Not need to be told what to do in all things.)
  • Do not be afraid.  Faith leads to action which leads to power.
  • "Talking and telling are not teaching."
