Copenhagen for Valentines

I am a bit behind as we have been very busy the past few weeks, but I did want to add a few pictures from our week just before Valentine's Day.  We went to Copenhagen and took our Danish language test, so are very relieved to have that behind us.  The test wasn't too difficult, but it has been hanging over our heads for several months as it had to be done.  I guess we will be notified of the results eventually...

We were also able to help greet new senior missionaries, the Morgans, from Nampa, Idaho, and helped move them into their apartment up in Viborg.  I haven't got a picture of them yet, so hope to have one soon.  They are here to do records preservation for Family Search.

We were really happy to get to stay with Elder and Sister Madsen (Gilbert, AZ) who are the SUV missionaries in Copenhagen.  It is always good to visit and compare notes.  We were also able to visit the new SUV Center in downtown Copenhagen.  The Madsens were our original "trainers" when we arrived in Denmark and helped us so much!  I will always be grateful to Sister Madsen for taking me shopping, showing me around the Danish kitchen, helping me know what to buy to get started, how to read the signage at the grocery store, etc.  We went out to dinner at a restaurant one night which we considered our Valentine date along with being able to attend the temple just before returning home. We had family names we were able to do, thanks to Dad.

Wonderful Dinner!

Can the grandchildren tell who this Danish Viking is that I found at the  Natural History Museum of Denmark while in Copenhagen?  He looks a little familiar...

We returned home the night before the terrorist shootings in Copenhagen.  The above picture is near our apartment downtown Aarhus the next day, and shows how the Danish flag is flying at half-mast to commemorate those people killed.

We ended the week with a fun Valentine package from Robyn, Jon, Alisha, and Spencer.  We loved the jerky and Sweetharts, and especially the personalized Valentine messages from the kids!  Thanks so much Alisha and Spencer!

We have been doing a ton of visits with members of the ward, new members, less-actives, part-member families - spread out over the area, and it has been great to feel like we are getting acquainted more and being of service.

We will be going to Gothenburg, Sweden for a Nordic Institute and YSA Senior Missionary training meeting this coming weekend, and are looking forward to that.  This will be our first training meeting of this kind, and we are excited to learn more about what we are doing!  Sweden is just across the water, only a few hours away, but this will be our first time out of Denmark since arriving last August.
