Maintenance, Missionaries and More...

We have had a variety of assignments once again the past couple of weeks, so I had fun taking some pictures that show Elder Parker working in his P-day clothes!

He is the best maintenance man our apartment building has, and the owners don't even know it!  Though we did tell you one time that he received a key to the city garbage tanks on our block because the city workers thought he was someone "official" because he likes to see what is happening and always knows what to talk about.

Our apartment building dryer is finally drying well, as Dad got in and tore it open to unplug all the vents so the sensors would keep reading correctly. That was a big blessing for me as laundry takes a very long time to do! The floor scrubbing was done at a missionary apartment we closed down earlier this month.  The wooden floor was a mess, and we didn't have much to clean with, but he had it looking better than it was when the missionaries moved in!

That week he also decided he was going to learn to make omlettes to help with the cooking, and they were delicious!  He has learned to like peppers here as they are really sweet and good in Denmark.

We also had a zone training meeting and the missionary farewell of one of our SUV members, Julie Andersen, who is now at the MTC in Preston, England.

We had our first district activity - bowling!  It had been probably over twenty years since we had gone bowling.  Afterwards we played games at the church and I fixed sloppy joes and french fries.

We continue to visit and teach members of the ward, and enjoy getting acquainted with new friends.

We also had transfers this past week, so Elder Brady and Sister Rovig have moved from Aarhus.  We will miss them, but are excited to get acquainted with two new missionaries joining our district.

We had ward conference today, which is the first since we have been in Aarhus.  It was fun to have the chapel so full as many stake visitors drive in and bring their families.  We also had Elder and Sister Thorne visiting with us from the mission office in Copenhagen.  They brought a new senior missionary couple, Elder and Sister Morgan, from Nampa, Idaho, to live up in Viborg.  The Morgans will be doing Family Search records preservation. 

Thought from our lesson today from the teachings of President Ezra Taft Bensen:


It is a great blessing to have an inner peace, to have an assurance, to have a spirit of serenity and inward calm during times of strife and struggle, during times of sorrow and reverses. It is soul-satisfying to know that God is at the helm, that He is mindful of His children, and that we can with full confidence place our trust in Him.

The lesson also said that sometimes we just have to hang on and endure well till things work through.

I also remember Elder Neal Maxwell teaching that we need to not just endure, but endure well.   Sometimes that is hard to do, so just hang on!
